This Slavic native of woodlands & fields is tough (zones 4-8), albeit sometimes a bit slow to establish. Flowers may be reddish brown, green or purple and green. Quite delicate at 12-18" tall,  atrorubens is the first to go dormant in our gardens in hot summers. 4" $10.00  qt. $15.00

Helleborus foetidus Helleborus foetidus
Basic H foetidus, not a cultivar. Helleborus foetidus 'Ruth' Helleborus foetidus 'Ruth'
This form of the commonly called Bear's foot or “Stinking” Hellebore,  has beautiful chartreuse flowers very early in the year over nicely divided foliage. It is not really named after our granddaughter Ruth but we like to pretend it is.  Zones 6 to 8       4" $10.00     qt. $12.00
