  Helleborus atrorubens
This Slavic native of woodlands & fields is
tough (zones 4-8), albeit sometimes a bit slow to establish. Flowers
may be reddish brown, green or purple and green. Quite delicate in
appearance at 12-18" tall, this species is wonderful with
North American woodland plants. Atrorubens is often the first to go
dormant in our gardens in hot
