This very rare species is slow to mature and plants may not flower for 6+ years. Flowers may be blued green inside with purple veining and purple on the outside, but can be all purple or all green. When we saw these plants in Bosnia we were both excited and amazed at the range of colours and foliage variations. Plants go dormant in late summer, emerging early in the year in our garden.
